About Us
How It Started...
Tojal was founded by Finn and Ronnie, two experienced carpenters who share a deep passion for craftsmanship and a belief in building furniture that truly lasts. After years of working in the industry, they grew increasingly disheartened by the rise of mass-produced furniture: poorly made, lacking character, and designed to be replaced rather than treasured.
They envisioned something different a return to timeless craftsmanship, where each piece of furniture is made to be passed down through generations. Their goal was simple: to revive a love for woodworking and create beautiful, contemporary furniture that will last a life time.
After working together on various projects in the Algarve, Portugal, Finn and Ronnie decided it was time to bring their shared vision to life and so, Tojal was born.
Team
Who we are...
Finn’s journey began in 2016 at the renowned Williams and Cleal Fine Furniture School in the southwest of England, where he mastered the art of fine carpentry and 3D design. He then spent years honing his skills at a furniture company in Bristol before relocating to Portugal to pursue his dream of running his own company.
Ronnie has come from the yacht world and has worked on some of the most elegant yachts in the world. With over 30 years of experience in the industry, Ronnie is a wizard in the carpentry world and has made a name for himself in the yacht industry.
